Woman and boy injured after being hit by underage driver in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, TX – A woman and a boy were injured after being struck in a collision involving an underage driver on Shadow Bend Avenue on Halloween night, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred at 2474 Shadow Bend Ave, north of Oakleigh Boulevard and Delaware Street, at 9:10 p.m., when the 14-year-old driver of a gray 2010 Nissan failed to control the speed of his vehicle and also failed to yield the right of way to two pedestrians. He then collided with the left side of a white 2018 Chevrolet.

The two pedestrians, a 26-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy, were struck during the collision. They sustained what are believed to be non-critical injuries in the accident.

The underage driver was not hurt during the crash.

No information was available on the second driver.
