UPDATE: Vinton man killed in crash after vehicle stops on I-10 near NW El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to KFOX14, a 22-year-old man died early Monday after a two-vehicle collision that hurt two others on Interstate 10 in northwest El Paso.

El Paso Police responded to the scene on the westbound interstate near South Resler Drive shortly after the crash at 2:37 a.m.

An early investigation indicates the young man was behind the wheel of a 2005 Ford Mustang that had come to a full stop on interstate.

Shortly after, the Mustang was hit by a 2015 GMC Sierra.

Police confirmed the driver of the Mustang, a resident of Vinton, died at the scene.

The GMC’s 29-year-old female driver and a 23-year-old female passenger were taken to an area hospital. The severity of their condition was not disclosed. Both patients are residents of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

An investigation by the department’s Special Traffic Investigators remains ongoing.
