5 people injured in rollover crash on 51st St and Ave S in Galveston

GALVESTON, TX – Five people were injured after a driver ran a stop sign on 51st Street in Galveston on Sunday afternoon, according to information from the Texas Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred at 2498 51st St, near Avenue S, at 4:42 p.m., when the 38-year-old driver of a gray 2013 Nissan ran a stop sign. Her vehicle collided with the front of a gray 2020 Nissan being driven by a 47-year-old woman, and then overturned.

Both drivers suffered possible injuries in the crash. Also reported as possibly injured were a 12-year-old boy in the 2013 Nissan, a 12-year-old girl in the 2020 Nissan, and a 13-year-old girl in the 2020 vehicle.

A 46-year-old man riding in the 2013 vehicle was not hurt.
