Motorcyclist fatally falls over side of Galveston seawall after traffic stop

GALVESTON, TX – A motorcyclist fell to his death after driving off the side of the Galveston seawall while fleeing a traffic stop early Sunday morning, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Seawall Boulevard at around 1:30 a.m., after a motorcyclist allegedly ran a red light near the 5000 block of the same street. An officer attempted to pull the motorcyclist over at a traffic stop, but the driver is said to have fled the stop at a high rate of speed.

The officer stated he did not attempt to pursue.

About ten minutes after the traffic stop, the motorcyclist crashed over the side of the seawall.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has not been identified as of Monday morning.
