Two men hurt in early-morning crash on SH-87 in Bolivar Peninsula

BOLIVAR PENINSULA, TX – Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash that happened early New Year’s Day on State Highway 87, according to information from the Texas Department of Transportation.

The collision happened at 1020 SH-87, near S Jacks Road, at 12:32 a.m., when the driver of a silver 2012 Chevrolet made a turn when it was unsafe to do so. The front-left end of the Chevrolet then crashed into the back-left end of a black 2019 Honda.

The driver of the Honda, a 29-year-old man, and one of his passengers, a 27-year-old man, sustained what were described as minor injuries during the crash.

His second passenger, a 22-year-old man, was not hurt in the crash.

It is unclear if the at-fault driver was injured.
