Victim in fatal Galveston Causeway pedestrian accident ID’d

GALVESTON, TX – The pedestrian who was killed early Wednesday in an accident on the Galveston Causeway has been identified, according to The Galveston Daily News.

The victim is 28-year-old Galveston man Gregory Malmstrom, who died while walking along the Causeway bridge, near the exit for Harborside Dr, at about 12:20 a.m. after he had been struck by the driver of a Jeep Liberty SUV.

The driver, who was seriously injured in the collision, has not been charged in connection with the accident. At this time, police do not suspect the driver of having been under the influence.

The driver still has yet to be publicly identified.
