TEXAS CITY, TX – A woman who was reportedly running across I-45 died after being struck by a driver this weekend, according to information from the Galveston County Daily News.
The crash happened early Saturday morning in Texas City in the 1200 block of the northbound freeway feeder road, near Oceans Cabaret. 32-year-old Sandra Louise Rice stepped out of a vehicle being driven by a man, and then she reportedly began running across the freeway.
Rice was then struck by a driver and was later pronounced dead.
The driver stated that he did not realize he had hit anyone. After he got home and saw damage to his vehicle as well as a social media post about the incident, he returned to the crash scene.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
