1 dead, 1 injured in possible drunk driving crash on Southwest Fwy

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed and another was injured in a possible drunk driving crash on the Southwest Freeway this weekend, according to KHOU.

The crash happened near the intersection of the Southwest Fwy service road and Fountain View Drive at about 3:15 a.m. Sunday, when a female driver ran a red light. She then T-boned an Acura TL headed through the intersection.

The driver of the Acura died at the scene.

A passenger in the same vehicle was brought to the hospital with severe, critical injuries.

The at-fault driver was taken into police custody and is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter. It is unclear if she was hurt in the collision.

The accident remains under investigation.
