2 women and 6 children injured after being hit by alleged street racer

HOUSTON, TX – Two women and six children were hospitalized after a suspected street racing crash involving a hit-and-run driver in the Alief neighborhood last night, according to KHOU.

The collision happened in the 7500 block of S Kirkwood Road, near Carvel Lane, at about 8 p.m., as the driver of a black Chevrolet Camaro, who may have been racing someone at the time, crashed into a Toyota minivan.

The Camaro’s driver then fled the scene on foot.

The eight occupants of the minivan, two women and six children, were taken to the hospital.

One of those children, an 11-year-old, sustained critical injuries in the accident.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident and search for the hit-and-run driver.
