HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by an 18-wheeler truck on the North Loop this afternoon, according to information from KTRK.
The accident happened on the North Loop I-610 W near TC Jester at around 2:10 p.m., when a man reportedly walking on a freeway ramp stepped into the pathway of an 18-wheeler truck. The truck then collided with the pedestrian.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
All westbound mainlanes of traffic were closed as authorities investigated the accident, leading to major traffic delays.
