HOUSTON, TX – A man using a wheelchair died after being hit by multiple drivers on FM 1960 Road in the Cypress Station area on Monday morning, according to KHOU.
The crash happened in the 800 block of FM 1960 near Hafer Road at around 6 a.m., as a man in a wheelchair was crossing the street. He was then struck by the driver of a white passenger vehicle. The driver then fled the scene.
The impact sent him across the roadway, where he was hit by at least two additional oncoming drivers.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene.
The other drivers remained at the scene after the crash.
After the collision, police received a call from a person who claimed her vehicle had been hit. Parts from the vehicle matched those left behind at the scene of the fatal crash.
The owner of the vehicle claims that she was not involved in the fatal crash.
No arrests have been made at this time, though the car owner is facing police questioning.
The accident remains under investigation, and authorities hope to locate surveillance footage in their search.
