Truck driver dead after fiery 18-wheeler crash on Hardy Toll Rd

HOUSTON, TX – A truck driver was killed in a fiery, dramatic collision on the Hardy Toll Road on Friday morning, according to information from KHOU.

The crash occurred on the southbound tollway near Aldine Bender Road at around 5:30 a.m., after the driver of a big rig truck drove onto the shoulder of the highway. The truck then crashed into a retaining wall, and the cab of the truck burst into flames.

The driver, who had been trapped within the burning wreckage, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash caused hours-long traffic delays on the toll road, with the highway reopening around 12:38 p.m.
