KERRVILLE, TX – Police have arrested the driver in a crash that left a 17-year-old high school student dead in Kerrville last week, KSAT reports.
The 19-year-old driver has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. Police believe the suspect was under the influence while speeding in a 2002 Ford F-250 on Interstate 10 near Kerrville on Thursday when he caused an accident that claimed the life of one of his passengers.
The pickup truck was approaching a 2022 Kia K5 from behind when the driver swerved to avoid hitting it. It rear-ended the Kia anyway and rolled over into a ravine.
One passenger in the pickup was killed at the scene. Two other passengers were also injured. The 33-year-old driver of the Kia was uninjured.
The suspect is currently being held in the Kerr County Jail.
