Semi-truck driver cited after multi-vehicle wreck in far east El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to CBS4Local, a semi-truck struck two other vehicles Monday afternoon on Gateway Boulevard West in far east El Paso.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred near Eastlake Boulevard, at around 1:47 p.m.

According to authorities, the driver of the semi-truck failed to stop at a red light, resulting in a crash with two other vehicles.

No one was seriously injured, but an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputy said the causing driver received a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

The intersection was shut down as the EPCSO, El Paso Fire Department, and Horizon City Fire crews responded to the scene.

The closure remained in place for several hours as crews worked to clear diesel fuel that had spilled onto the roadway.

Officials said the area was expected to reopen by 7:00 p.m.
