Elderly motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on Hwy 90 in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, TX – An elderly motorcyclist died yesterday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 90 on Tuesday morning, according to 12 News Now.

The crash occurred on U.S. 90 and Main Lane at about 9:45 a.m., when the driver of a 2017 Mazda, identified as 19-year-old Kountze resident Isabella Guy, ran a stop sign. Guy then crashed into 74-year-old Kenneth Weaver, of China, Texas, who was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Guy fled the scene but was located a short time later.

Weaver was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Thursday.

The crash remains under investigation.
