Update: Victim ID’d in Galveston County rear-end collision

SAN LEON, TX (GALVESTON COUNTY) – The victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision in San Leon last weekend has been identified, according to The Galveston County Daily News.

The victim is 60-year-old Bacliff man Leland Pruitt, who was killed in an accident near the intersection of Miles Road and Highway 146 on Saturday.

Pruitt’s SUV collided with the back of a truck that was stopped at a traffic light, and both vehicles were pushed into a ditch as a result.

Pruitt was airlifted to the hospital in Houston, where he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

The occupants of the other vehicle sustained non-critical injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.

Authorities have ordered a toxicology report as part of the investigation, which continues at this time.
